    Thad Frerking , DVM

Thad Frerking grew up with a natural love of animals and completed his undergraduate studies at Kansas State University, majoring in Animal Science. He then went on to complete his degree in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2002, using his elder sister Annette, also a veterinarian, as inspiration.

Dr. Frerking has been living in Las Vegas since May 2002, and proudly opened South Valley Animal Hospital on May 8th, 2006. Since then, he has appreciated the years spent building a relationship with the Southern Highlands community, taking reward in managing the hospital and meeting the needs of the pets and pet owners that come through the clinic.

In his spare time away from the hospital, he enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending time with his son. His love of animals is evident not only in the care he takes of his patients and practice, but in his own relationship with his two furry beasts- a silly Black Labrador named Manhattan and his couch potato of an English Bulldog, Rudy.

    Tyler Ley , DVM

Tyler Ley graduated from Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2010. After living in Colorado his entire life, he decided to branch out and move to his girlfriend's hometown of Las Vegas. South Valley Animal hospital was fortunate enough to gain his knowledge as an associate right after his completion of vet school.

His interests within veterinary medicine include surgery, dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Ley's father, a practicing veterinarian of 29 years, fostered his enthusiasm for animals and veterinary medicine at an early age- his passion for which, has flourished ever since.

During his spare time, Dr. Ley enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and canyoneering. He also loves being outdoors with his beloved Chocolate Labrador, Sadie.
